How it works

From your catalogue to your customer’s door

You sell, we make. This is everything that happens between a customer personalising a product in your shop and the parcel arriving at their door.

  1. Step 1

Choose and set up your products

Pick templates from the Gravilo catalogue. For each one, choose the materials and sizes you offer, decide which fields your customers can change and which stay fixed, and set your retail price. The Shopify app shows our cost next to your price, so you always see your margin.

    • Materials and sizes become product variants
    • Lock fonts and layout, or leave them open
    • Product mockup images are created for you
  2. Step 2

    Your customers personalise

On your product page, customers type a name, pick an icon or upload a photo and see a live preview of the finished piece. Photos are checked for resolution straight away, so problems show up before the order, not after.

    • Live preview, in your customer’s language
    • Instant feedback on photo quality
    • Works with your theme’s product form and cart

With the API, your own interface collects the values and our API returns the preview image.

  3. Step 3

    The order reaches us

Shopify orders come to us through Shopify’s fulfilment requests, automatically once they’re paid if you turn that on. API orders arrive with a single request. Each order is paid from your prepaid Gravilo balance.

    • Only the Gravilo items of an order come to us
    • Balance too low? The order waits on hold and continues as soon as you top up
    • No order is ever rejected or lost
  4. Step 4

    We cut, engrave and check

Your customer’s design becomes a production file for our CO2 lasers, drawn by the same engine that drew the preview. We cut and engrave the piece in our workshop in Romania, check it, and pack it without any Gravilo branding.

  5. Step 5

We ship, and tracking flows back

The parcel leaves with a tracking number. On Shopify, the fulfilment and tracking land in your store and Shopify notifies your customer. With the API, a webhook tells your system the moment the order ships.

Follow every order

You see the status of each order in the Shopify app or the merchant platform, and as webhooks if you use the API.

  1. Received
  2. In production
  3. Produced
  4. Shipped
  5. Delivered

On holdmeans we need something from you before we continue: usually a top-up, sometimes a better photo or a corrected address. We tell you what, and the order picks up where it left off.
